Back in early 2020, the Country was in unprecedented times as we all dealt with Lockdown and the effects of being confined to our homes. I decided to spend the time looking for a solution to getting some decent sounds out of the beautiful but completely useless 8 track player in my old car.

I had seen adverts on Ebay and other platforms where people were offering Bluetooth boards "piggybacked" onto the existing radio's internal wiring and decided that running powerful modern electronics through 40- 50 year old circuitry inside the old sets was a recipe for disaster so set about finding my own safer solution

For several months I ordered and tested thoroughly various different products from the internet for sound quality, durability, performance and most importantly safety. It took me eight months of testing many solutions, on my test bench, some reasonable, some appalling and some downright dangerous, some ran for a couple of days and then died, some lasted 2 months and a couple even caught fire! 

Eventually I decided that the only way to guarantee the safety of my own precious car lay in removing the internals of my Radio and completely reconfiguring with new wiring throughout with one set of internal modems and amplifiers that I have been using ever since with excellent results.
